In truly is a master class in taking a property that one loves and breathing new life into it–Harris couldn’t do this if he didn’t have such passion for The X-Files. But Harris makes sure that the anticipation continues to build, with tension as thick as can be and building with each page turn. As they happen, you can’t help but smile and eagerly turn the page to see where it’s all heading, but we haven’t quite got the answers…yet. Harris has brought back thought dead characters, given us easter egg after easter egg, and many callbacks to previous important elements in the show, but few have been as potent as the ones in the “Pilgrims” arc and the ones in issue #14 are just fabulous on a whole other level. But if you are, there is simply so much goodness in this issue that it may blown your mind a few times over. If you haven’t been a longtime fan of The X-Files, I’m not sure why you’d be reading this comic, so we won’t worry about that too much. Harris and his various collaborators have created something special here, and that feeling has hit what appears to be (but certainly won’t be–it’ll probably get even better) its highest point in issue #14, part 4 of “Pilgrims”. Of course, you’ll have a nice smile on your face most of the time too, especially if you’re a longtime fan. This X-FILES SEASON 10 thing has turned out to be pretty damn amazing, with arc after arc seemingly topping itself and leaving your jaw on the floor.
